Course Aims
These highly participative programmes would be aimed at the employment and working relationship aspects of diversity and equality and or the public service delivery aspects of diversity and equality within the public sector depending on the needs of the client.
The programmes aim to provide participants with the opportunity to explore all diversity and equality in the context of employment (policy and procedures, recruitment, training and development, pay and reward, career progression) and working relationships (valuing and understanding difference, conflict, harassment and bullying) and or public service delivery (accessibility and social cohesion).
The 1 day programmes provide a comprehensive, practical case study based overview of all aspects of diversity and equality whereas the half day workshops aim to raise awareness but provide less opportunity for case studies.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of a one day programme participants will:
- Have gained an understanding of harassment and bullying in the workplace, and in particular direct and indirect discrimination in a bullying and or harassment context
- Be able to recall the main facts and legislation relating to diversity in employment and or public service delivery
- Be able to identify the differences between direct and indirect discrimination, and between positive action and positive discrimination
- Be able to identify verbal and non verbal discriminatory language and behaviours
- Be able to identify from given case studies direct and indirect discrimination
- Have gained an understanding of how to assess the impact on diversity of policies, procedures and practice
